Liquid Gold

Argon Oil

There are many oils on the market that claim to have miraculous results for your skin, hair, and nails. However do you really know what’s in those oils? Are they truly from where they claim?
Argan oil has gained popularity over the years with beauty product lovers. This liquid gold comes from southwest Morocco, Essaouira to be exact.  It is the exclusive region where the argan tree grows. It is extracted from a thorny tree fruit by hand, by peeling the outer layer of the fruit, then pounding it’s inner nut with a rock to extract the kernels from which the oil is extracted.
The oil is high in vitamin E, essential fatty acids, and can help with many skin conditions such as dry skin, acne, psoriasis, eczema, and wrinkles.  The restorative and age-defying effects have made it one of the latest miracle ingredients in beauty and cosmetic products.
Argan oil is named as an ingredient in 111 personal-care products since last year, compared to only two in 2007. Products range from facial masks to shampoos, from makeup to shaving creams.
The omega-6 fatty acid called linoleic acid has anti-inflammatory properties that make it healthy for the skin. There are studies out that statistically show an increase in vitamin E blood levels when five teaspoons of argan oil are consumed daily for two months. Even cholesterol levels have dropped subsequently.
Natives of Morocco use it on their skin, hair, nails, and even their babies. It is also eaten, drizzled over salad and couscous, or used as a dip for bread. This golden-colored oil is truly liquid gold. Moroccans
believe it has a miraculous effect, so, it’s something you might try too.
A good friend of ours at +Skin Sutra MedSpa+aisha jabrane is the founder & CEO of +jabarganoil. She personally goes to Morocco to oversee the production of the argan oil. Therefore, we believe and trust this product. +Skin Sutra MedSpa  is the exclusive medspa in the DMV that carry this amazing oil.

Vampire Facial

Micro-Needling

Collagen Induction Therapy, also called micro-needling therapy, is a minimally invasive skin-rejuvenation procedure that involves the use of a device that contains fine needles. The needles are used to puncture the skin to create a controlled skin injury. Each puncture creates a channel that triggers the body to fill these microscopic wounds by producing new collagen and elastin.  There is improvement in skin texture and firmness, as well as reduction in scars, pore size, and stretch marks.
Micro-needling has been around for a while, however marketing and new technology has evolved to improve this old technique into a modern treatment.  Micro-needling is either done with a derma roller or micro-needling pens. There are various micro-needling pens on the market right now that health professionals can utilize. We at +Skin Sutra MedSpa use +SkinPen by Bellus Medical
Derma rollers are done manually, they come in different needle penetration configurations. The needles leave microscopic channels into the dermis, which triggers the body’s healing response to produce new collagen synthesis without causing scar tissue formation. The micro-needling pens are medical grade micro-needling devices that penetrate deeper into the dermis.
Treatments can be performed on the face, neck, chest, arms, hands, legs, abdomen, and back. Depending on the area being treated, the procedure can take about 30-45 minutes. Also depending on the severity of damage on the skin, more than one treatment may be needed. Immediately after the treatment there may be some redness, flaking, or mild irritation to the treated area. These aren’t anything to worry about and will subside within 24-72 hours. It may be difficult to apply makeup over treated skin where it is flaking, however usually there is little to no downtime.
This treatment can be used to promote radiant, even-toned skin, minimize the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, acne/body scars, and reduce pore size. It can even help the appearance of stretch marks and ice pick scars. Another great point about micro-needling is that it is safe for all skin types, with no risk of fibrosis.
Overall this procedure has many advantages: it’s quick, safe, non-ablative, and requires no thermal energy. You can check out our Facebook page +Skin Sutra MedSpa for more before and after pictures, deals and specials, and upcoming events.

The Beauty & The Beast

Our love story

Where do I begin...Manpal and I aren't your topical couples that dated and we're madly in love and knew they would eventually get married. We were completely opposite of this stereotype story.
Long, long time ago back in 2004, Manpal first laid his eyes on me was the Guruwara (religious temple)  I had heard through the grapevines that he liked me and wanted to met. This made me furious! Why you might ask.. well its because I think it's disgusting when guys/girls check out the opposite sex at a religious temple!!! I thought to myself: I will met him and teach him a lesson; maybe slap him across the gave or something.
When we met I dressed as ugliest and tomboy as I could. We talked and talked and I realized he's not like the rest of them boys. The original idea was canceled and new plan was to be friends.

You can label your relationship whatever you want. We were labeled boyfriend and girlfriend but we were more like best friends. I was becoming more comfortable sharing personal stuff with, like my family, school, and dreams/goals. He, however, felt comfortable but never really shared much of his family or past.
In the back of my head I was falling deeply in love with him. But he had already told me he would never marry so I was to never dream we would be to gather forever. That did not stop us from strengthen our relationship.
Years went by and together we been through many ups and downs. While the storm's kept coming, we kept facing them. Eventually one storm came that Manpal couldn't let pass. My parents were looking for suitable suitors for me. It came to a point where I was about to get engaged too. Since I always felt like Manpal was a BBF, I told him about the guy and that I think he might be the one. And I guess that trigger something; he not only wants me but needs me.. and forever.. He wanted to marry me.
Before I knew it, Manpal called my mom and arranged to the families to met. April 9th 2011 we had a simple religious pre - engagement ceremony. I couldn't registered that this all happened. Then soon after August 3rd 2012 we got married!
That's our love story. At the end of the day, I married my BBF and thing are just getting started for us.
I hope you enjoyed our story and I will post more milestone within our marriage as they come.
